CareNow Foundation, Inc. Provides Funding to Community in Congo
CareNow to Donate $45,000 Over Three Years

Westlake Village, CA (August 9, 2006) - CareNow Foundation, Inc. delivered the first of three $15,000 checks to World Vision, to help support healthcare programs in the community of Kipushi in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Under the guidance of World Vision, CareNow is one of several community partners for Kipushi, and has committed to donating $45,000 to this small community, over the next three years.

Kipushi is classified as an Area Development Program (ADP), and is sponsored by World Vision. ADPs are small global communities that provide a platform for World Vision to identify the individuals most at risk, roughly 18,000 in Kipushi, and respond with appropriate interventions. World Vision developed the ADP model as a means to combat poverty and health issues, in small communities in remote regions of the world. The Kipushi ADP began in 2001 and is scheduled to be funded through 2016, thanks, in part to community partners, such as CareNow.

The funding provided by CareNow is earmarked to help augment the cost of providing community based activities, with heavy emphasis on AIDS prevention programs and healthcare for orphans and vulnerable children. In Kipushi, there are an estimated 7,700 orphans and vulnerable children, who have lost one or both parents to AIDS, or who have AIDS themselves.

“We are pleased to be one of Kipushi’s community partners. World Vision’s commitment to providing community-based training and support for healthcare, is in perfect alignment with CareNow’s mission,” said Carrie Sharpshair, executive director for CareNow Foundation, Inc.

CareNow Foundation, Inc. is committed to providing essential healthcare for the least served people in remote regions of the world, by furnishing support, equipment, supplies, and training of local healthcare providers.  CareNow is about “doing.”  “CareNow – DoNow.”  For more information about CareNow Foundation, Inc. or to make a donation, log onto the Web site at www.carenowfoundation.org or call
