Press ReleasesNovember 28, 2007 CareNow Foundation, Inc. Ships Westlake Village, CA (November 28, 2007) – On October 31, a shipment of much needed pharmaceuticals, supplies and equipment arrived at a medical clinic in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The arduous task of getting this shipment to the clinic was made possible by CareNow Foundation, Inc., and Giving Children Hope. “KwaZulu-Natal is an area devastated by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. This shipment will hopefully help to prolong the lives for some of the many who are afflicted with HIV and the AIDS virus,” said Carrie Sharpshair, executive director for CareNow. This was the first time CareNow has partnered with Giving Children Hope, a charitable organization that collects medical supplies and used equipment to ship to countries in need. “It was the perfect collaboration for both organizations. We both share the common goal of providing valuable medical resources to remote regions of the world,” said Ms. Sharpshair. The shipment included items, such as – antibiotics, cardiac medications, pain relievers, examination tables, dental chair, portable X-Ray machine, and sterilization and laboratory equipment. Giving Children Hope was responsible for securing the container and contents; and CareNow covered the costs for the container, the contents and shipping. The clinic in KwaZulu-Natal was built with funds from the Lily of the Valley Enterprise of Thousand Oaks. CareNow Foundation, Inc. is committed to providing essential healthcare for the least served people in remote regions of the world, by furnishing support, equipment, supplies, and training of local healthcare providers.
