CareNow Foundation Set to Host
Second Annual SafariNow Gala on May 4
Theme is SafariNow: A Passport To Hope
Westlake Village, CA (February 24, 2008) – CareNow Foundation is gearing up for its second annual SafariNow fundraising gala, which is scheduled for Sunday, May 4 at the Moorpark Country Club. “The theme for this year’s event is SafariNow: A Passport To Hope. Our focus for the evening will be centered on Zambia and their healthcare needs,” said Ed Bjurstrom, founder of CareNow Foundation.
SafariNow attendees will have the opportunity to participate in several interactive demonstrations, such as what a mobile clinic or prenatal clinic is like in the Zambia bush. “Our goal is to educate our guests about where the most help is needed, in terms of healthcare, in Zambia and how they can contribute to hope,” said Wendy Bjurstrom, co-chair for the event. “We are especially excited to have Susan Hundshamer and Stephanie Brink with us from Zambia for this event. Firsthand knowledge of running a mobile clinic in rural Zambia will bring our interactive demonstrations to a new level and create a memorable experience for our guests.” The evening activities will also include a Zambian marketplace where guests can shop and purchase authentic items from Zambia.
The SafariNow Gala will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a reception, interactive demonstrations, and a silent auction. The dinner program will include a musical program directed by Tim Heintz, along with special speakers who are involved in Africa, and a live auction. Tickets are $125 each or $1,250 for a table of 10. Sponsorships are available at the following levels:
Ambassador - $20,000, Diplomat - $15,000, Delegate - $10,000, Commissioner - $5,000, Advocate - $2,500 Agent of Hope - $1,000.
Volunteers are needed to help plan the event and on the evening of the gala, and auction items are needed as well. “We are excited to be hosting our second annual gala. This is a major milestone for CareNow and an opportunity for us to say thank you to our many supporters,” said Mr. Bjurstrom.
